The photograph is a public lot card for a natural jadeite cabochon and diamond ring (lot 1864). The card gives 20.5 × 16.8 × 6.2 mm and an estimate of HK$5,000,000–8,000,000 (about US$640,000–1,000,000). Wuyue uses it as a method: at an evening sale, copy size and estimate before you argue about colour and mount. This is a reading of displayed information; the lot is not a Wuyue consignment.
一、三围为什么比「很大」重要
1. Why millimetres beat ‘large’
20.5 × 16.8 是俯视长宽，6.2 是厚度。戒面收藏，厚度决定侧面有没有「肉」：同样长宽，4 毫米和 6 毫米在灯光下完全是两个价。椭圆比例约 5:4，戴在手上不会拉得过长。围一圈大颗粒圆钻，是夜场习惯：钻托住绿，也方便图录摄影。看实物时仍要确认爪是否压色、翠有无绺裂到腰。
20.5 × 16.8 mm is the face; 6.2 mm is depth. Depth decides whether the profile has flesh: the same length and width at 4 mm and at 6 mm are two different prices under the lamp. The oval is about 5:4, so it does not stretch on the finger. A halo of large round diamonds is evening-sale grammar: it holds the green and photographs cleanly. In the room, still check that prongs do not bruise the colour and that no fracture reaches the girdle.

500 万至 800 万港币是拍卖行的公开预期，不是成交保证，也不是零售吊牌。区间宽，说明色口、证书和现场竞价都可能把结果拉开。藏家应对照：证书是否天然翡翠（未注处理）、镶嵌金属、钻的数量与重量是否写入图录。源头拿货做私洽，同类尺寸的阳绿蛋面可以按切工和种水重新报价，不必对标夜场成交价。
HK$5–8 million is the house’s public band, not a hammer promise and not a retail tag. A wide band means colour, papers and the room can still move the result. Check that the jadeite is described as natural and untreated, and that metal and diamond weights are in the catalogue. For a private stone from origin, a similar yang-green cabochon is priced on cut and water, not on the evening hammer.
